WHAT MAKES SWEET WITHOUT WHEAT UNIQUE?
Not only are we a fully dedicated gluten free bakery, but we also believe in consciously and naturally crafting everything with premium ingredients that are higher quality than the bakery standard. You will not find ingredients like hydrogenated oils, shortenings, imitation flavorings, or artificial colorings in our kitchen. We also understand that individuals on a gluten free diet may have multiple food intolerances/allergies and we are competent in accommodating a variety of other food allergies as needed.
IS EVERYTHING CELIAC SAFE AND GLUTEN FREE?
YES! We are a 100% dedicated gluten free home-bakery. We do NOT create anything that isn't gluten free. We guarantee that everything we create is prepared in an environment with zero chance of cross contamination and celiac safe. You can order to your heart's desire!
WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED/DO YOU HAVE A STORE FRONT?
No, we are a home-based bakery and we do not have a public store front/shop. We are located in Alexandria, VA approximately 7 minutes from the Mount Vernon Historical Estate.
HOW DO I PLACE AN ORDER?
Fill out our Order Inquiry Form! Within 24 hours, you will receive an email confirmation with your attached order form/invoice or requesting more information to fulfill your order request. If you do not receive an email within 24 hours, please check your spam box.
WHAT SIZE CAKE DO I NEED?
Please see our cake cutting guide! We have listed the approximate serving size of each cake we offer. Our cakes come standard 2-layered with the option to add or reduce the number of layers.
I PLACED MY ORDER! HOW DO I RECEIVE IT?
We have pickup and delivery options available. We happily offer free delivery within 5 miles of our physical address. Our delivery fee is $1.85 per mile for other local deliveries within a 30 mile radius. Order pickup is always free and we offer a wide range of flexible options for pickup/delivery.
WHAT PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?
We accept Zelle, Venmo, Paypal, Apple Pay, or cash/check too upon pickup/delivery.
DO YOU OFFER GRAB-AND-GO ITEMS?
Everything we bake is prepared to order from scratch. We do not regularly have grab-and-go bakery items available. We occasionally may have Take & Bake Cinnamon Rolls available depending on our volume of orders.
DO YOU OFFER SHIPPING?
No, at this time we do not offer shipping.
DO YOU OFFER DAIRY FREE OR VEGAN OPTIONS?
Yes! We understand that many of us who are gluten free may also have other food intolerances. We are highly competent and capable of handling a variety/combination of food allergies. Any additional food allergies must be documented on your order request form.
DO YOU OFFER SUGAR FREE PRODUCTS?
We do not do sugar-free baking. We do use organic, unrefined cane sugar in our baked goods as opposed to processed beet-sugar. We are able to adjust our baking to use lower sugar and can adjust some recipes to use coconut sugar or maple syrup for an upcharge. We do not bake with stevia or other alternative or chemical sweeteners. We make classic tasting baked goods with the best texture we can achieve and we do that by choosing organic unrefined cane sugar; please note that adjusting sugar ratios WILL compromise the overall texture.
IS SWEET WITHOUT WHEAT AN ORGANIC BAKERY?
As a caring member of our community, we choose organic ingredients wherever possible and all of our ingredients are non-GMO, however, we are not a fully organic bakery.
CAN YOU TELL ME MORE ABOUT YOUR PRODUCTS AND THE TYPES OF INGREDIENTS IN THEM?
We use ZERO additives, preservatives, fillers or artificial ingredients in our products. You will never find artificial colorings, flavorings, shortening/hydrogenated oils, or any of the commonly found fillers use in conventional products. We pride ourselves on solely using quality ingredients that are simple, organic as available, and natural.
WHY DON’T YOU TAKE CUSTOM ORDERS OVER THE PHONE/EMAIL?
In an effort to streamline requests and avoid anything being lost in translation, ALL orders must be placed via our order form. WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
We understand that unexpected and unforeseen circumstances may force you to cancel an order. Please be in touch, as soon as possible, in the event that a cancellation seems imminent. Orders placed can only be canceled and refunded as long as we have not begun to prep your order. Based on the items in your order and the size, this time frame can vary from 48 hours to 7 days. We ask that you understand that by booking your order, we have held that confirmed slot for you and have turned away additional inquiries. In the unlikely event of an emergency, such as fire, flood, severe illness, or medical emergency and your order must be canceled by Sweet Without Wheat, we will offer you a full refund. Please read our policies for more information.

DO YOU SELL GIFT CARDS?
Yes! We do have gift cards available if you’d like to surprise your favorite gluten free friends or family!
DO YOU HAVE A CAKE AND DESSERT CARE POLICY?
We will go over dessert care with you and provide a cake/dessert care card. Once your dessert or cake leaves Sweet Without Wheat, we are no longer responsible for any damages that may occur, during transportation or at your home.
